Seed pods and Rebloomers
Well it looks like it's time to harvest my seed pods as they are beginning to crack open! It is beginning to feel like Autumn already and I have some rebloomers flowering nicely! Light Beam and (appropriately named) Autumn Circus were putting on a lovely display in the very early morning light... They aren't as tall as usual for Tall Bearded Iris but we have had a very dry summer up until recently. Read more...
Mulching at Yahl Iris Limestone Coast - Tall Bearded Iris
I have spent many mornings this week mulching the Tall Bearded Iris beds here at Yahl Iris. The Limestone Coast of SE SA has been very dry and our soil is very sandy. The soil needs to be improved as it is repels the water! The mulch will bring in much needed organic matter and improve the water holding ability of the soil.
