I have spent many mornings this week mulching the Tall Bearded Iris beds here at Yahl Iris. The Limestone Coast of SE SA has been very dry and our soil is very sandy. The soil needs to be improved as it is repels the water! The mulch will bring in much needed organic matter and improve the water holding ability of the soil. We have had some very hot weather and little rain. We have not had good rains since November and I am really looking forward the the Summer season 'breaking' and getting some good Autumn falls for the garden beds.
My hybridised Tall Bearded iris seeds here at Yahl Iris, have sprouted and have been growing successfully this season... I can't wait for them to flower!
